2 Ways Business Owners Can Minimise Accidents & Injuries on the Premises

If one of your customers or employees is involved in an accident and sustains an injury whilst on your premises, there could be serious financial and reputational repercussions for your enterprise. Here are two steps that you can take to minimise the chances of this type of incident occurring in your commercial space.

Repaint the lines in your car park as soon as they start to fade

If you want to prevent your employees and customers from getting hurt whilst they are using your business' car park, then it's worth stocking up on some line marking products so that you can quickly repaint your car park's lines as soon as they begin to fade.

If the painted lines in your car park deteriorate to the point where they are no longer visible from several feet away, there is a chance that the people who then use your car park may end up being involved in an accident. For example, if the lines which indicate where pedestrian walkways are located have faded, there is a greater chance that someone walking through the car park will get struck by a moving vehicle.

Likewise, if the lines which indicate where the parking spaces are have deteriorated, there is a higher chance of vehicles veering into one another when manoeuvring in or out of their spaces.

However, if you have a stockpile of line marking products on your premises, you can quickly repaint any fading lines the moment you notice them, and thus reduce the likelihood of these types of incidents happening.

Keep the floors in your premises in good condition

Another effective way to prevent people from being injured on your premises is to ensure that the floors are kept in excellent condition at all times. During periods of wet weather, any tiled, laminate or linoleum floors in your commercial space should be mopped periodically throughout the day, so that any rainwater tracked in on the soles of people's footwear does not make the floor wet and slippery. This should help to reduce the likelihood of anyone slipping and falling whilst walking around the premises.

Likewise, if your floors sustain any form of damage (for example, if one of the floorboards becomes loose or if a floor tile cracks), you should have the damaged area repaired immediately, to prevent people from tripping when they walk over it.

If it is not possible to do this straight away, you should use place a warning sign or tape around the affected area, to keep people away from it.

About Me
Global Enterprise: Keeping Up With Business

Good day, everyone. This is George Perrett here. I used to quite fancy myself as a globetrotting entrepreneur, but let us just say that I have now been retired for a few years. My son is now involved with all forms of business and my head spins when I talk with him about changes that have taken place. In order to keep up with the business sphere, I have started reading commerce magazines and watching the business channels on television. It has really been an eye-opener! At first, I started keeping notes in a journal, but now my son has helped me to organise this blog. I do hope that others who are interested in new business trends enjoy my posts and contribute feedback. Thank you.
